79 T-Shirts
Today I cleaned out my childhood dresser. There were 79 t-shirts in there, from every activity I've ever done. Almost all of them reflected my desire for status.
Shirts from schools that admitted me. Shirts from events I won. Shirts from groups that I wanted to feel included in. Shirts from companies that people have heard of. Shirts from hobbies that felt cool.
Now I wear only solid color shirts. It's not that I've finally moved away from status. It's that now, the high status thing is just to disassociate yourself from high status shirts.
